Which car for midlife crisis?

So, I'm the right age for a MLC (48) and my wife won't let me have an affair with a younger woman (to be fair, I'd need a fair bit of Rohypnol to get a younger woman interested), so it looks like a car will have to do.

I'm thinking of an E93 M3 Convertible, or maybe a Boxter or something similar. Budget c35k, maybe 40k at a push.

I'll be keeping my existing car as a daily driver, so I'll be doing 6-8K max. What should I be looking at? I really fancy a convertible.

You (hopefully) only have one mlc. Push the budget and get a 440 convertible. As far as I know you can still get 9 or 10k off list.

If that's not doable maybe a 335. I found the Ms too harsh to really enjoy with the roof down. And the suspension's too hard for a roofless body.

If you don't need four seats there's plenty to choose from but I find the extra seats make up for lack of boot space when touring.

Convertibles - porker / supercharged jag / m3 dct / lotus Elise
Add coupe - Maserati / 700hp GTR / rs5

I can only see the jag/maser/porker getting you the second phase of the MLC though, not sure a 700bhp GTR will attract the laydees, more a cock magnet......

Or a 440 for a mid life hot flush if a crisis is too much....

I did look at 440's, but the dash is the same as the Mrs 335D and I fancy something different. Good point about the M having hard suspension though.

I did go to the local Porsche center at the weekend, and the cars looked lovely, but nothing in my price range. Can anyone suggest a decent non-Porsche dealer for a Boxter?

Also, is the regular Boxter OK, or do you really need an 'S'?

Ashgood Sports Cars

Drive both. The non S needs to be rev'd hard but its a sweet motor. The S is more muscular and you get a double barrel exhaust which is critical for a MLC

Are there any decent indie Porsche dealers in the midlands or up North?

Definately not another 3 or 4 imo. Some nice lotus or alfa sports car? Porker is the obvious midlife choice.

Or go full mlc and buy a TVR!

BTW James joking aside, if you are in MLC and in a bit of confusion or worse.. know it is imo a wake-up call to shed a bit of selfishness and the illusions of life & to take inventory and focus on the important things less on the superficial and to become a better more caring and sharing person.. that will make you truly happy. If you need an ear PM me.

I can't help but think you are approaching the affair wrong, in your opening post.

About the car; I'd be looking for an SL500

Porsche might be appropriate if one of the faster ones but not a Boxster,a bit tame really.
I'm 67 now and I bought my Cerbera 4.5 at 50,so it was a mlc I suppose!

In the OP's affordability category how about a Mustang V8 or,if he needs the room,a Vauxhall VXR8?

(Seems to be a common theme here...large capacity V8s )
