Turning old tomorrow! When is the new mid-life!
So tomorrow i'm turning old (40). So I was thinking to myself then is mid-life now? Personally I'd be well happy if I made 80 but just can't see it too be honest.
Family history doesn't fill me with confidence! So when is mid life? |

40 is old these days ?
I'm a fucking brontosaurus at nearly 48 then ... Though I ran 8 miles this evening after work, out lamping foxes with a mate about 4am, followed by another working day and then (weather permitting) tennis for a couple of hours in the evening. |

Youngster I'll hit the half ton next February - somehow that seems like a serious number in my mind.
Getting older is shit !

Lol 40, fucking hell, get some time in!
On the injury side of things, yep as you get older it takes much longer to heal up etc. I am reducing my mountain biking and increasing gym side of things. Circuits 06:45 and Pilates at 10:30. Also decent outdoor heated pool. Decided on starting work later in morning On and yep am old 52. |

50 next week. Didn't think about age until I hit 47 and my health took a turn for the worse. These last three years have made me start to feel old.

I'm 41 now but it's not the age that bothers me, rather that time seems to rocket past quicker than it did before. Going from 35 to 40 seemed to take half the time as 30-35, and my twenties felt like they went on forever!

I'm 51 and a year ago I thought I'm still young, running, going to gym 3-4x a week, skiing. And suddenly my body told me that I'm not young anymore, wear and tear of my knees during skiing, can't recover for over a year now, can't run anymore.....so it looks like I'm getting old even if I'm still young at my heart

52 here and soon 53. And a grandad...
No time or inclination for keep fit beyond walking three dogs, eat what. I fancy within reason, drink more than docs say I should but again within reason. I might not live forever but I plan on enjoying it whilst here.... It's a number. I feel no different to 43 - maybe a few more aches after doing things like moving house but nothing to stress over. Enjoy the years rather than worry about the number - not everyone is as fortunate as to get there!!! |

Happy Birthday! At 28, (Hopefully) I've got a few years before I start contemplating my mortality.

I turn 40 in a few weeks. I wouldn't say I'm looking forward to it but I don't see it as a big problem. Nothing you can do about time passing, just go and enjoy yourself. The only thing I've noticed that seems to get a lot worse with age is your time to recover from drinking sessions. A few weeks ago a group of us went to Medellin and Miami to celebrate turning 40 this year. I still don't think I've recovered fully from it. Back in my 20's and early 30's I'd have been back to normal by the time the flight landed in the UK.
