DINANTRONICS Elite For the BMW F2x 230i, F3x 330i, F3x 430i

A 4 cylinder turbo has never been as much fun as the current B46/B48 BMW's. With power coming on strongly and predictably the stock car is a pleasure to take on long trips or rip on in the canyons alike. Even though it is fun there can always be more. That's why Dinan is now introducing the DINANTRONICS Elite system to the fold capable of unleashing more tire burning fury on our already beleaguered roadways. Much to your, and our, enjoyment.

With a substantial bump in torque down low of over 60 lb-ft of torque the 'seat of your pants' will surely approve. Coupled with a consistent 20-30 HP increase over the entire power band the DINANTRONICS system is a power solution you will enjoy day after day. The tuner utilizes a myriad of inputs to achieve the increase in power but more importantly uses these extra inputs to deliver the smoothest factory-like experience possible just as you would expect from any Dinan tuning product. Unadulterated enjoyment is a DINANTRONICS module away.

DINANTRONICS Sport For the BMW B46/B48 Engines

These last few weeks have seen a multitude of B48 equipped BMW's run through our R&D center in Morgan Hill and in that time we have had the opportunity to do a lot of testing on the various tunes for the platform. As was somewhat expected with the Sport tune, the existing B58 variant also is a plug-and-play solution for the smaller displacement motors of the 'B' engine family; the B46/B48. Producing some impressive torque gains down low the Sport units are sure to make your 230i/330i/430i a different beast off the line.

Does Dinan expect to port these products to the Mini Cooper S/JCW which utilize the same B48 engine?

SPORT is already on that side. An ELITE variant is in testing on the MINI platform.

Is the Elite the one you recommended for my 2016 228ix over the sport. I wanted a bump in power plus warranty and long term reliability. How does the Elite differ from the Stage 1 you offer for over $1500. Thanks.

Elite and Stage 1 are the same thing. Full product name is technically DINANTRONICS Elite - Stage 1 versus DINANTRONICS Sport. The Elite carries the warranty, more inputs, and a bit more power then the Sport variant amonst other items. A comparison of the 2 different styles of tuners we offer can be found at http://www.dinancars.com/the-evolution-of-power.

Its been submitted but who knows when it may finally make it to the testing table to officially get the EO number. Some applications take 2 years, some 3 months --- just depends on what is on CARB's plate really. Don't have any control over how quick something turns there though. We submit and hope its expedient. The SEMA test lab added to the equation has helped to alleviate some of the CARB lab but it still hasn't eradicated the wait or anything.

Pricing is correct for the 4 cylinder variant.

I'm confused. The sport at $299 is not the one I am interested in. I am interested in the Elite Stage at $1099. The cost on the link you sent me is over $1500.00. Can you clarify. Thanks.

Elite for the N20/N26 228i is ~$1500. Elite for the B46 230i is $1099. Difference being in the harness mainly. The first generation plugged into the factory DME and interfaced with everything coming and going from the factory ECU. The new engine is going to select sensors instead. Its a much more cost effective harness solution hence the reduced price.

Quick Question.... For the warranty ... factory/Dinan, does the installation of Stage 1 product need to be done by the dealer or can it be done by the end user, the consumer?

Can be done by the end user but the labor obviously isnt guaranteed so if improper installation was the cause of a failure it would not be covered under warranty. Hard to do but for legality reasons it still needs to be said.

None that I have heard of--- hasn't made it out to a wide swath of the market either as they were just released. A dozen test cars, between the SPORT and ELITE, haven't had any issues though.

does it remove the speed limiter? If so, can we go back in time and have you install it at the Welt 5 minutes before my delivery?

What happens when you run regular gas? I remember seeing 85 octane gas in Colorado. Will these piggy back tuners still allow the car to run reduced timing and such to prevent knock?

I would be astonished if any Dinan tune threw a code.

No it does not unfortunately. Still stuck at the 135 or 155 limit depending on tires the car was ordered with.

Car is still able to "save itself". Factory safeguards are still maintained.

Have you ever dynoed with 87 or less octane gas.. a before and after to see if the tuners do anything?

Would be pulling so much timing it would be making no power, or such an inconsequential amount its not worth stating at that low of an octane rating.
