Seat heat

Hi guys
I noticed this morning ing the seat heat for both the seats at the higher temperature is not very hot compared to my 135i is it just made like that....i feel like i put it to 1 instead of 3 bars...thats the power it feels like...
Heating seats i feel like are always meant to burn ur ass up...this one i barely feel it?
Is it like that to u guys too?
I still got warranty

In My 2015 M235 the seat heating is hot. I cannot stand a setting higher than one bar. I noticed though the steering wheel gets less warm than in the X3. it is thicker though, which might explain it.

The heat seating on my M235i isn't as intense as it was on my previous ride (2011 MINI Cooper S). With the MINI, the middle setting produced the equivalent amount or slightly less butt and back warming pleasure as the highest setting in my BMW - disappoint on really cold days. That said, the highest setting in the MINI was like "thermonuclear" - it was so hot, I could see a potential for burns, so BMW may be erring on the side of caution.

Mine gets so hot on 3 bars that even on a 0 C morning you can't stand it for more than 2-3 mins max but it's not on the risky segment.

You aren't crazy -- seat heat is less intense on the F gen cars than the E cars. To wit, my E92 seats could cook steak at the highest settings -- not so much in the present car.

That being said, you won't notice it after a few weeks.

Steering wheel heat only comes with "Cold Weather Package". For some reason, my car included, many cars are spec'ed with "Heated Seats" instead of "Cold Weather Package" which seems ridiculous to me since it's only a couple hundred dollars difference. I wish I had "Cold Weather" with the heated wheel, but sadly only "Heated Seats" on my 2er.

IF you have Heated Steering Wheel, the button is below the signal stalk...

Nice to have, but I actually dont use it very often...or for very long - just until the wheel is warm...

You can also code them to be warmer. I did and it seemed to make a difference.

The heat on the 235 is hot, but not as hot as a 135. So far everyone in this thread who has owned a 135 say it's seats are hotter.

I could do without the heated seats, but the Steering Wheel is a "MUST" have.

I feel the same way...

My dealer had 2 new M235i Verts on the lot and neither had the heated steering wheel.. Ever since I got it in my pickup, there's no way I'm getting a car without it. It one of the reason I went ahead and ordered now versus waiting for the 2018 models in other brands to be released.

I'm surprised BMW doesn't make heated and vented seats standard in all their cars.

Heated seats actually reduce male fertility and I'm sure the guys at BMW caught on the news and programmed the seats to be safer for the sake of our future children

When I first read about the fertility thing I was going to code the seats such that they are not too hot for my little guys I found out that BMW already took their precautions and have programmed the seats such that the temperature would decrease over time since many of the studies I've read on the issue that the highest risk is when the heat is above a certain threshold for a prolonged period such as over an hour or so.

I agree with the previous poster in that 235 wheel is thicker and padded more. Probably makes a difference in coming from something else. Last Winter, I used it every day and it worked great but it was never uncomfortable.

The heated seats are amazing and more than enough.. Between that and the wheel, it's great down to super cold temps and makes the cabin livable until the engine has the heat to overcome near zero temps..

The cold weather package was the best option I added...

Oh hell, people. Riding a bicycle is also proven to affect male fertility. So's eating red meat. I mean, c'mon ... shall I go on? I don't really want to ... I may get banned, LOL!

There are other threads about this. The seat heating in 2 Series cars is average temperature-wise -- and it operates at variable temps at any of the three settings depending on several factors, from the air temperature outside the car to A/C and heater settings. Just be glad you have a way to warm your digits and gonads beyond the, um, obviously manual ...

Haha this is true. I dont really need kids anytime soon anyways. If I do I'll just make sure it's in the summer time. Does it go the other way too? Maybe I should install ventilated seats.
