X4 Recommended Coding?

I am going to have someone remotely code my X4 for the "no-dazzle" EU high beams and they will also make any other changes I want. What else do you recommend...here are some I was thinking of...

1. No-dazzle high beams
2. Enable digital speedometer (BC option)
3. Enable HUD turn-signal display (not sure if it's an option for X4)
4. Disable legal disclaimer in iDrive
5. Easy Entry/Exit

Anything else you guys recommend? My only concern on easy/exit entry is that it seems it gets hardcoded on the seat location...not sure if that would work since my wife's seat position does not match mine when she is driving.

You are off to a good start with those choices. I had the digital speed on my E60, and I but turned it off again. Better accuracy from my radar detector.
Yes, turn signal in HUD is possible on the X4.
Getting rid of initial 3-gong sound at startup was important to me - as well as sound for seat belt reminder. I always wear my seat belt and don't need my Bimmer to remind me loudly when I back out of the garage.
Window closing continuation on door open is also great.
Unlock doors on engine shut-off is good.
I had the visual radio volume indication removed.
Windows open/close via key fob or door handle grab is also convenient.
Your coder should be able to provide you with a list of possibilities.

Finally, I have not been able to get easy entry to work on my car. Planning to give it another shot soon, but meantime I would love to hear if you got this to work.

Coding is a personal preference, but a few thoughts:

1. I assume you will also get VLD done.
2. If you have 610 HUD, there is no real reason to add BC option.
3. Absolutely an option. The only thing that cannot be changed is number of soft turn signal blinks.

With DA+, I recommend blind spot detection at lower speeds.
With 5AT, you can code default following distance (1-4 blocks)

If you have Cold weather package, you can separately code steering wheel, front seats, & rear seats to remember shutdown heat settings. This way, you do not have manually turn on every time you start car if on when shutdown.

Other popular options:
  • Folding mirrors/roll up windows with keyFOB/CA.
  • Increased passenger mirror tilt in reverse for better curb view
  • Office in motion (with full text display)
  • Transfer Iphone ringtone to vehicle

Is there an option to turn on a heated steering wheel on icon in the video display? I say this on a 335i rental recently.

There is a dash indicator. Not sure if you can code for icon on head unit.

Does that mean you can display status on the dash...by default it only lights up the button when on and it's hard to see the button due to its location.

I assume you mean this can be enabled? It does not display by default on the X4 M40i. I read in another forum that it didn't exist on the X4 dash so I assumed it was not even there to be programmed...that is good news if it can be.

My F015 has cold weather package, but not my F010. The picture is from an X5. Although the F010, F015, & F025 all use same instrument cluster (KOMBI, CAFD_00000069), the coding to enable is in another F015 ECU module not found in your car. I can look for the setting, but I assume it would have been enabled from factory on your '17 F026.

EDIT: Do you happen to have link for other forum thread?

I have cold weather package as well. I have seen other forum postings complaining about the fact the X4/X3 does not have a visual display on the dash for the heated wheel and mine definitely does not show anything. If you discover it's there and can be enabled, that would be good news. Here are just a couple links I found...

It turns out enabling electronics (Nav/Radio) off with door open, compromises ability to use two other coded options:
  • Disabling Window Safety (ie allows continued window rollup when door opened)
  • Easy Entry / Easy Exit

True (above). Funny thing is that if you turn off the motor, then press Start / Stop button a 2nd time (foot off the brake of course) to shut down the electronics, you CAN still roll up the windows and Easy Entry / Exit still works.

So, the coding to "Disable Electronics on Door Open" doesn't quite do the same as the 2nd press of the Start / Stop button. Go figure...

I thought we tested that, but thanks for update.

What is strange is on my F010 (uses same FRM, CAS, & SM modules), with coded for electronics off:
  • Windows can continue to roll up
  • Steering wheel telescopes, but seat does not move.
