Private Plate

The misses plans to changer her car and has a private plate.

Should I:

A) Transfer the plate off before any sale of it to a dealer

B) Keep it on, and tell the dealer that once i know the plate of the new car, that I transfer it to that.

If I opt with option B, how long is DVLA taking to transfer details over?

I put a plate on same day, as for option B probably few days.

I did transfer it before we traded previous car in, very straight forward and V5C turned up in 3 or 4 days!

Option A. The dealer will undoubtedly forget or f*** it up.
