Windshield washer pump replacing

Looking for help where to start pulling front wheel covers, i need to replace windshield washer pump thats probably clogged. I can hear twice the noise from pump but would only spray water in bottom part of windshield.
i have replaced many of this pump in the past in my old e39 and e53 and they are a lot easier to reach, now f30's have it hidden behind right front wheel well, i think.
I would really appreciate if anyone could post procedure; my car is 2014 328i (F30). I did lots of search but has not found any posting to this subject.

Thanks in advance for any reply.

If you think its debris thats causing the issue, then you shouldn't need to replace the pump. The pump has a removable screen that probably can be cleaned out. #3 on the diagram.

I'm really hope its just the strainer; i still need to know where to start to get to the pump/ccontainer thing. Can't see the actual unit, looking at the filler it appears it might be mounted behind right front fender after the wheel.

I think you're right. From the design of the reservoir, it looks similar to the e90's; behind the passenger side fender.

Good luck!

If it's spraying just not well then it's deff your strainer. The grommet builds up algae and stuff. Replace it and you'll be fine.

I went to 61 General Vehicle Electrical System --> 6166 Windscreen Washer System --> REP Overview.

I actually got to the individual components through the clickable links in the Overview. I didn't see the actual procedures listed in this category so I can understand why it may have been difficult to find.

Thank you so much; exactly what i was looking for.

And since the job entails a lot of removal i might as well replace the pump. It could go bad after clearing out any debris and its not a expensive part.

It looks to be essentially the same as the E-90. I changed 2 on my 09 E-30. It's a bit of a tight fit with little room in the fender space, but just take your time and don't let if frustrate you.

Found the problem, so please avoid or do not use Rain-X washer fluid as it is causing blockage in strainer.
and a big Thank you again to Polo08816 for sending the procedure.

Pic below is the glob of slime found from using Rain-X during winter.

I have this issue and found out that the sensor is integrated with the tank. what i did try was alcohol and vinegar with distilled water trying to get the slim off the sensor and it worked...until i filled it back up with windshield fluid. still get the low fluid warning every single time i get in the car. cant try the mix again since alcohol are flying off the shelf.
