Basically, instead of burning DVDs all the time I wanted to get an AVI player. I cant be bothered getting a new DVD player that can handle AVI files because I already have a VCR/DVD player with surround sound speakers.

I was wondering though if the picture quality would be good when you hook it up to a big screen?

Just get an ATI all-in-wonder card for your PC and go straight from PC to TV. Though that enclosure is really cheap, might not be a bad call. Eh, get the enclosure and a nice cheap 500 gig drive to go in it.

Yeah I though about the card. Great idea, but I cant be bothered hooking my computer up to the big screen downstairs. I'll try the HDD enclosure, it is cheap. I wonder if quality will be an issue though. It's not even branded. Hmmm...
