You should rotate the pics before uploading, never encountered an inadvertent turn here...

I took the pics on a phone. The pics are the correct orientation but when I upload them they post sideways. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Thanks for the help.

I've seen that before. Your phone actually has the photo rotated, but it's intelligent enough to auto-rotate them when you view the photo. However, if you email, text, or post that picture, it will be the non-auto-rotated version. Try transferring the pictures to your computer and you will see what I am talking about.
