Seems pricey even still. For the door speakers, wouldn't any 4" replacement work? Sure the connector might be different but nothing that some basic tools couldn't fix

It's the mounting points that are the problem up front (all cars) and rear too (convertibles only). Most popular option is $350 for Eton front and JL rear, so this is a premium but it's U.S. based 4 year warranty no warranty issues with grey market eBay sourced gear. For the vert you'd need Eton all the way around. The other problem is aside from the connector "any 4" replacement" won't fit in the doors or other mounting locations. There's just not a ton of room to mess around with.

I don't work for them or anything and there's a huge Dr. Stragelove thread that I'd encourage you to check out if you are looking to upgrade your speakers. Just posted to alert folks who want Bavsound that there are deals to be had.

I added the Ghost subs to my 2016 M235i with the HK audio. The Ghost subs are not that much better than the stock ones. If I could do it again, I wouldn't replace the subs. Now, the midranges and tweeters in the doors, absolutely worth replacing.

Yeah I did the speakers no subs yet. They made a HUGE difference. I ordered my dad a set the day after mine were installed that's how impressed I was.

Great hearing some honest feedback on our Stage One and Ghost Subs! Please let me know if y'all have any technical questions at all, and I'll be happy to help...

Same here, not much better in fact I thought there was less bass than the HK stock ones. Removed (& sold them because I missed the return date by only a few days) and restored the HK subs. Turns out the HK ones were a bit better.

Sorry to hear about the experience! While subs may take a little while to break in and sound their best, we typically hear that customers notice an instantaneous improvement...

Hopefully the sale worked out well for you?

I suppose, they were only in for about 8 or 9 days, can't recall dates now. Sold them but took a bath because of exchange rates and duties...around $200CAD probably.

In any case, they just weren't for me. Certainly doesn't mean the gear was sub-par that's for sure.
