Rim Recommendations
So I'm looking for a new set of 19" rims for the summer. I own a '11 e90 335i in Space Grey.
I'm leaning towards matte bronze/gold rims but haven't really seen too many Space grey e90s with them. Any suggestions? Pictures would be preferred too! |

If you can find them, style 167 is a classic look for an e90.

If I had the money, I would be buying a set of 18" Apex Arc-8 in Hyper Silver. Reasons: 18" because better ride quality, Arc-8's because they're light as a feather, and hyper silver because it looks phenomenal on every car color.
Here are some photos: Edit: if you're really seeking that 19" look, check out the below

I'll have some photos of your scenario next week
No one has done gold/bronze on SG E90s as far as I know. I searched for photos all over Google and no luck. Best I could do was find any gray sedans on gold rims. Looked promising enough for me to pull the trigger on a custom refinish for my Style 269s.

I have had them for 4 years now (4 summer seasons) going on 5th season. I use them exclusively as summer wheels.
They have taken a few pot holes here and there. No cracks, however they do need a bit of straightening for this coming summer season. You have to keep in mind, no matter what rim you buy, no matter what forging, casting method is used to manufacture them, if the impact is hard enough they will all bend or crack. Overall paint finish has held up good. No clear coat peel. Some stone chips here and there with is expected over time. They still shine nicely when cleaned up. Also keep in mind that if you ever want to refinish a hyper silver wheel, the price is a bit higher for that paint option. Over all I been happy with these rims, and each summer get a few compliments on the look of the rims and car. |

I agree that any wheel will become damaged if you hit a big enough crater. I've actually never had that experience so far (knock on wood), but I have heard complaints about AG M359 in particular-- although maybe that's just a few people misrepresenting the quality of the wheel. In any case, they look great, so enjoy your car with the pretty wheels

I actually cracked one of my oem style 189s few years back. Had it welded at a wheel repair shop. Been using it ever since without any issues. They have been my winter killers.
So it's all luck in the end. |

I think the Silver Avant Garde M359 are great. Do they have a 18" version?
I am in the DC area and I have 19" VMR 710s. I am not liking the crappy roads. Do the 18's ride better? |

I have cracked one though and had to buy a replacement but I hit a pretty big pothole at night. I've had the wheels for almost 3 years now and that has been the only real incident. Overall, they are a good mid range set of wheels in my opinion (much better than VMR). They are slightly annoying to clean though but that is the price you pay for this wheel design no matter the manufacturer.

I haven't really seen any SG E90s with gold/bronze rims either which is why I am leaning towards them. I've seen a few grey sedans with them and they look amazing which is also why i am highly considering them. |

So here's the thing with bronze/gold wheels.
You'll like it for a season and then you'll realize you need to change. It suites cars that are more on the custom fabrication end such as wide body kits. There's a reason you don't see this colour around too much. I get it this is an individual style, but sometimes you got to go with what's been proven to work, in this case what's been proven to look god damn good. By the way, when you search for images make sure you are looking at photos of cars that are unedited. All filtered photos look good, where as in reality they look like crap. |

19's and 20's may look sick but youll regret buying them about a year or two in if you have bumpy roads
I have 20" Lexani's and I'm currently shopping for a smaller set and i live in San Diego - Vossen seems to be the next best thing for me. |
