Sold the Aldi .............

For another one!

Finalised the figures today with my local dealer.

So the final spec that keeps it at just under £40k (I think) is

S3 Saloon Black edition - options are
S-Tronic
Ibis White
5 arm 19" wheels
Supersport grey seats
Extended leather pack
Auto dimming mirror
Rear parking sensors

It comes pretty well spec'd with Bang n Olusfen, heated seats, nav, privacy glass etc but things like parking sensors and auto dimming interior mirror are expensive extras
Aldi have recently started fitting the dual clutch (wet clutch) 7 speed box to the S3 which gets decent reviews so will be interesting to see what it's like compared to the ZF8

Now for a bit of advice please

The configurator is showing the Recommended on The Road price as £39,980 which I assume includes first years road tax. As I understand the first years tax is currently at £185 will be included in this price but does not count towards the list price for the new £40k luxury car tax threshold so list price is £39,795 at point of order, am I correct with this principal? First years tax will increase to £500 after April 1st but the yearly road tax will be £140.

Delivery is some time this year

My understanding is that the road fund licence is a tax so doesn't count towards the RRP.

My understanding is also that you are never happy with any car you purchase, so what's going to replace the S3 saloon

Funnily enough though one of my customers had the A3 saloon and had to get rid of it as he said the front doors were ridiculously small to get in and out of as they'd crammed the back two in

£425 and they don't even give a visual display only acoustic! The visuals can be coded in I've been told.

less than 20 miles per day, constant dpf regens. It's pretty rapid, refined, posh but lacking in fun when off the motorway.
