I guess you don't wear glasses but for anyone reading this that does I recommend Transitions (aka Reactolite). They work fine with the HUD and save having to swap glasses for sunglasses every time the weather changes.

I didn't think Transition lenses worked inside the car due to the windscreen glass - mine never go dark in the car even in bright sunshine ?

Polarized are the glasses I prefer for driving - my car doesnt have HUD but if it did, I would give this sort of "hack" a try:

The only time I find them a bit lacking is with a low sun coming between the visor and the mirror, but that doesn't happen too often for me. |

On a similar note, I thought petrol station pump display wasn't working properly a few months ago whilst I was wearing polarized sunglasses - it was totally black. Got the attendant out who gave me a perplexed look. I insisted it was broken then took my sunglasses off and saw the display working normally.

Non polarised as already suggested. Or change the car to one without heads up display, sorted |

I wear Oakley Polarized Iridium Ice (prescription) and no problem with HUD - although I did feel a bit of a knob when I mentioned at the petrol station that their pump display was just black and maybe faulty and the guy came out and said it was ok - then I took the glasses off!!

Bit weird that the LCD is polarised the 'wrong' way.
E85 Z4 sat nav screen was black with polarised sun glasses making it useless a lot of the time. Even in winter on wet roads with low sun I use polarised glasses to cut glare. |

Old thread but Oakley Prizm with red lenses work fine. Blue do not, much be the blue filter. These are polarized but I have 2 pair in red that work fine!

Hi,
I currently wear prescription multi-focal glasses with Transition Signature GREY tint and have no issues with my 2016 F26 X4 35d HUD. I'm considering updating my pair of prescription distance glasses I use mainly for golf and driving with Transition DRIVEWEAR tint and wondering if anyone has had issues with BMW HUD as this tint has both polarization and are photochromic. https://www.transitions.com/en-us/wh...rivewear-tech/ Cheerz |

https://www.zeiss.co.uk/vision-care/...echnology.html Or if you don't work with colour critical requirements get these to filter the harsh blue light. https://www.zeiss.co.uk/vision-care/...fe-lenses.html As for sunglasses like others have said go with no polarised for HUD & if you wear glasses just get the prescription version. I love Oakley's (prescription & sunnier) or I used too but now all if not 99% of glasses all come from the same place this parasitic company http://www.luxottica.com/who purchased the trademarks and company's (names) without giving a fuck they have ruined a lot of decent companies Oakley & Ray-Ban (those who had older versions and recently bought newer styles/replacements will know exactly what I mean) being their biggest sins.
