I heard from a dealer that 2018 residuals can not be changed as of now
He said the programs for the 2018's won't change from 58% for a long time because its a 2018 and something about BMW won't or can't change them until much later in the year. Does anyone else know of anything like this? I never heard of this before.
i was hoping to order a 530e at the beginning of april to take my pick of the best residual over the months during build. Bummer if this is true let me know thanks |

The programs typically run for two months but sometimes adjusted at the beginning of each month. I doubt your dealer knows for sure since changes are not announced until the first day of the month.

Residuals are controlled by BMW Financial and are changed either monthly or bi-monthly. Dealers don't have a damn clue how often or how much they'll be changed or even if they will go up or down. They find out via memo on the first of every month if residuals have been changed or not.

Even if residual doesn't change, the option credit may become applicable in the next month or two (hopefull), so you might be at the same residual but with a $3k option credit, its almost like adding 3-4% back to the residual of the car.

True, thank you. Based on other e models, whats the best guess on when that federal incentive will come about?
