DIY FMIC + CP + Intake - Extra parts?
Hey all,
I'm going to be installing my FMIC, CP, and Intake next week (along with trans fluid flush) with some friends.. One of whom has a lift and shop (hallelujah!) My question is for people who have done these installs before - what extra O-rings/clamps/bolts etc should I grab? I've read the DIY guides but I bought my parts used so not sure exactly what came with all of these things new. Trans fluid/pan kit is all inclusive (unless you have done this and know something I don't). I'm more concerned with connections between FMIC/CP and anything that's worth changing out while doing the intake. The FMIC is an ER Competition, CP is ER, and Intake is aFE Mometum. Thanks for any help you can provide and misery you can save me haha. Best, tgm |

You've pretty much answered your own question "what extra O-rings/clamps/bolts etc should I grab?"
Grab O-rings for both ends of the FMIC and CP. Depending on what clamps came with your used setup, I would purchase solid T-Clamps which have more holding force than the cheaper c-clamps. All these should not cost much and will give you piece of mind of avoiding any boost leak. Remember to slightly oil the o-rings as it will make installation much easier and help creat a tighter seal. |

I would simply order some T-clamps off ebay as BMW does not sell T-clamps.. As far as replacing the O-ring on the TIC side, yes, just replace it since it cost literally a few dollars.
As far as changing bolts, the stock IC is held in by two bolts, one of each side. I reused mine as they have no direct impact on the functionality of the IC. |

Great, so sounds like 3 o-rings and 3 t-clamps? 3" t-clamp the right size?
Also I may just replace those 2 bolts on the FMIC, if you know what size they are off the top of your head. Thanks for the help. -tgm |
