iDrive Apps Stopped Loading using iPhone

I use Spotify quite a bit via Bluetooth with my M240i (iDrive 5.0). A few days ago it stopped loading a long with all the other phone based BMW apps. I'm thinking it has to do with a recent iOS update (10.2.1). Anybody else have this issue?

I should add that the phone connects to Bluetooth normally and hands free operation works. The interesting think is that with Spotify open, the app says connected to BMW XXXXXX yet when I click the app button in iDrive, Spotify and the other BMW phone apps won't come up. Same thing connecting via lightning connector via USB, but sometimes get a warning that says something like "only one accessory can be supported" Tried it with wifi off, no joy.

Yes, whenever I plug my phone in and try to select Spotify it just hangs there. I haven't found the right combination but unplugging it, changing sources, reloading Spotify on phone, and loading connected app on phone seems to do the trick sometimes. As in doing all or some of those in some combination haha

I'll try to reload Spotify to see if that does anything, thanks.

I reloaded Spotify on the phone, ran the BMW Connected app along with Spotify and was able to connect this time. The odd thing was when it connected all the BMW apps were available now not just Spotify. Can't explain that as I tried it with the BMW Connected app open previously and it didn't make a difference only after reloading Spotify on the iPhone did it work and all the apps appeared in iDrive.
