I do my own detailing, but from what I've read, Lustr in Schaumburg is pretty well reviewed (high end pricing though).

There are guys with a lot higher end stuff then I use, this is plenty enough to piss off my wife.
I've got the HF 6.5" DA and roller stool Griot's Clay in 8 oz jars and interior spray detailer Viking Waffle Weave Towels 2 Buckets with Grit Guards Chem Guys: HexLogic Pads Microfiber Towels Wheel & Rim Cleaner V07 - Spray Sealant/Detailer Synthetic Quick Detailer Compound/Polishes: V32, V34, V36, V38 (Would probably swap back to Meg's standard stuff next time) Leather Care Cleaner and Conditioner Meguiars: Car Wash Soap M20 Sealant (Base) Yellow Wax 26 (Layered over sealant) X2000 Water Magnet Drying Towels Tire Gel Next on the list is an electric pressure washer and a foam lance. If you're looking to get into it, check out Junkman's stuff on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...ZDRjGHmR-CbWJR |

Hey GATORB8, did you buy a separate backing plate for the HF? If so, from where?

I do have a 3.5" chem guys plate and pads for more detailed work, but I haven't used it yet. I must have lost the arbor wrench, so I've got to get a replacement or fab one up so I can switch them out. |

If starting out id suggest get the porter cable instead of the HF one. I have both and the PC is much better IMO and still inexpensive. Get a 6" backing plate, orange pad, and menzerna SIP and you will remove 90% of the swirls.
