Shipping rims and tires

I did some searching but came up blank. I need to ship a set of rims and tires and the pricing is all over the place. Anyone have a preferred shipping company they use? I've checked the major ones, pretty salty...........any alternate shippers?

Thanks

Use the major carriers, but use nylon banding to band the four boxes down to two boxes. This will save you money.

1) Determine weight <x> and dimension <y> of each unit
2) Determine point of shipping and destination
3) Determine value of each unit
4) Determine required delivery date
5) Google “ship <X> lb <origination> <destination>
5a) Google “ship <X> lb <origination> <destination> <y>

Consider all carriers, and pay up for liability and insurance. Be advised, from someone who ships equipment across the world, determine the difference “insurance” from “liability”. That’s your homework.

Further: Good advice to consider from robthewrench

This is literally the first result when you google search:

http://howtoshipwheels.com/HowToShipWheelsWithTires/

Go to a local UPS store and they'll give you estimates. Using those parameters - use the web to find out which carrier is cheapest. Get insurance.
