Accessing the HUD output - possible?

Hey all,

So some background here - I'm currently sourcing out everything I need to do a DIY retrofit of my CIC Professional Nav (in my F30 2013 328) to allow me to run an Android mini PC on my stock screen.

I've got pretty much everything figured out in terms of what I'll need, but I had an interesting idea and I'm wondering if it's even possible.

Is there any way to access the HUD signal so that I can output to the HUD in a similar fashion to how I will be outputting to the stock screen? I'll be using a Video Interface unit (kind of similar to the Multimedia HD interface that Bimmertech sells) in order to swap between iDrive and my Android setup.

So, can this be done? If so, how/where do I need to get to in order to access my HUD video signal? Does it come out of the HU_CIC or is it wired in somewhere else?

Also, if this is possible and you know these answers, you also probably can answer what resolution the screen is running at.

Thanks for entertaining my madness. This would be super cool if it can be done.

The Signal for HUD comes from the back of the kombi display.

Thanks, how would one go about intercepting that signal? Anyone done this before?
