i've seen a version of the brabus ev12 with 6 pipes......looked ridiculous imho, but brabus charges, and apparantly makes, big bucks with it.

The second picture in the OP has nothing wrong with it, those are just the headers coming out of the old V12 car. Nothing wrong with that.

+1. It's still 4 pipes. Just the exhaust system is exposed.

performance wise, wouldn't it be better to allow each individual header to run out of the car? Meaning 6 exhaust pipes for a v6, 8 for a v8.

Look at the vintage Jag with a modified quad exhaust that I spotted today in Coral Gables, FL. Looks like a 1974 E-Type V12 Jag. (sorry for the pic quality, I took it with my BlackBerry).
