I ran the 1/4 mile in 12.7 sec at 110 mph with V1.47 on E40 ethanol.

I blended E85 and 91 octane to obtain 98 octane, took the car to the dragstrip,my trap speed went from 108mph yesterday to 110mph today. The car ran great on E40,no limps,CEL's etc. ,oil temp stayed low 230-240 range.

I had a full tank of gas, street tires 255 RE-01R's stones on K3's at 30 psi and a 15 pound sandbag in the trunk to help with traction under PROcede's low end torque furry.

A lot of people around here have been using E30 to E50 for years without an E85 tune and without resulting damage to their Evos,WRX's,5.0's...fuel systems.

I mentioned to some of my buddies how some on BMW forums were afraid of ethanol, they laughed at me.

I guess,I'm the first to run 12.7 on E40 using PROcede V1.47,that's my claim to fame,It'll be on my sig soon.

Just be careful. You will be running leaner on E85 than on pump gas. So you probably want to limit the E85 mixture to 20%. The good news about it is that it cools the the charge wonderfully (for added VE bump) as well as enhances octane. We built an E85 powered Evo for Mitsubishi to use at the LA/NY auto show. It was fast. But it required high capacity injectors, a big fuel pump and a lot of tuning!

Bye bye seals. Definitely a bad call unless you keep the ethanol content very low.

Also I forgot to mention E85 is cheap,$2.77 a gallon not that i couldn't afford unleaded racing fuel. Everything in the car is stock expect for PRocede, wheels and tires. My car has $16,000 miles and still using the original spark plugs.

Here's a good article on E40...

How come all these guys I know using E40 for racing aren't having seal problems, how did you come to that conclusion?

There is no problem with running full E85 as far as mechanicals go (seals, pump, fuel lines, etc,.) It was formulated to be compatible with any modern car's fuel system. It's just the tuning requirements that need to be addressed if you are going to run on it.

That's what our local tuner told me.He thinks E40 should be fine with my current tune(V1.47),He was really impressed with it.

That's a nice Evo,our local tuner converted a friend's camaro for E85 use.He used to run mid 13's on 91 octane now He's running low 12's like 12.1's,the one thing I remember him telling me is that they had to change the injectors plus E85 tune. He's been running that car on E85 for over a year now,He even autocrosses it.

No problem whatsoever.

However, you will need larger injectors, fuel pump, lines and TUNE to run right.
Otherwise, you will detonate or have your timing pulled like crazy.
E85 typically requires about 30% more fuel than gasoline.

Once tuned though, its like having race gas 24/7. Awesome power potential.

Lucas English at English racing made 500whp on STOCK evo9 turbo on E85.

Hey! Shiv.
I ordered the v2 harness last night.Hopefully PROcede will continue to work well on 40% ethanol.
I've been using E40 for about a month now still no problems and my car would throw a code very fast if I run cheap fuel.
I know a guy who runs E40 on his 5.0 Mustang for years without bigger injectors,he's seeing no problems.

Either way thanks for a great product.
