Turn Signal Brightness Coding
Can the turn signal brightness be adjusted via coding? I retrofit LCI LED headlights in my car and have all the necessary VO and FDL coding done (I'm error free). Only thing is the turn signals seem a little bright. For example, I can see the blinking reflecting off signs hundreds of feet away... doubt that's normal. If you know the default value of the code, that would help too. Thanks.

If you have the LCI LED headlights then adjustments can be made to the FLE modules to dim the turn signals.
I could take a look at your CAFD_000024C3_0XX_0XX_0XX.ncd and see what the settings currently are and then adjust them to dim the turn signal LED's. It may take a bit of fiddling about as each country variant, adaptive and nonadaptive have different settings. I know which one to change but it may take a couple of goes to get exactly the correct setting.

Well maybe if it is normal I will leave it as is. I just found it strange that when I'm at an intersection and signal, all the signs within the perimeter begin to blink. Can't really tell they're too bright when staring at them though.

They will already be set at 100% brightness but this is all relative to voltage settings for the LED's elsewhere in the FLE settings. I've messed around with the brightness % settings for the DRL in various modes and worked out how to get the DRL halos to dim on the same side when the turn signals go on but not messed with any of the the voltage settings as this could lead to premature failure of the LED chips.

I purchased the cree 30W bulbs and find they are much DIMMER than the stock LED blinkers. I prefer to light up the block as my old 2011 335i did which had stock LED blinkers up front. Any way to turn them up? I have an F30 model.
I noticed the side markers can be be turned up/down. "FEM_BODY 3063 MAPPING_SIDEMARKER_L_PWM_LEVEL_1 - adjusting the brightnes of left Sidemarker Light - 24 is the lowest value for LED bulbs which does not throw error" Last edited by BlkBimmerGuy; 04-02-2017 at 01:35 PM.. Reason: xxxxx |

So the side marker lights can be dimmed by going to fembody but your led will light up to maximum brightness when you turn on the turn signal? Is that how it works? Also I could not find FEM_BODY 3063 MAPPING_SIDEMARKER_L_PWM_LEVEL_1 . I see pwm level 4 and 5. My issue is that my led bulbs for side markers that I purchased are bloody bright. Would Like that to be as dim as possible except when the turn signal is turned on. |

Okay I was able to change mapping sidemarker l pwm standard to as low as 6V from 8.2 V which seems to have made a difference. But when you said the lowest you can set it to is 24? What is the 24? Werte value? Because the drop downs are just the voltage. |

All werte values are hex. If vehicle has TMS or FLE, then you change intensity in that light module.

So I changed my settings back from 6V to 8.2V as it was giving me the message of lighting malfunction and pull over safely to inspect lights.
I think it is my COB led bulb issue. |
