E91 - remote locking woes
Hi,
my remote locking failed a week or so ago (locks fine from the key), I have tried another diversity module which didn't make any difference (didn't get better or worse) so put the original back in. I suspected a broken wire so had an auto electrician take a look, he has confirmed that there is a break somewhere as there is no feed to the module but also says that there is a possible issue with module as it still would'nt work when he put power to it. He has said it will need a new loom and possible new module. Can anyone recommend anyone else who would be able to take a look at this issue, maybe someone more familiar with BMWs? |

Why a new loom??
Just repair the broken wire!! Had the same issue on mine last year. 2x broken wires if I recall. The only downside is you have to slice open the rubber gaitor on the right hand side. Just wrap it in tape after and that should keep the moisture out. Last edited by P14kle; 02-16-2017 at 01:04 PM.. |

I was hoping to avoid cutting the rubber tubing, I like to keep things standard but fear I might have to bite the bullet. I might try a mobile electrician and see what they can offer or even my local BMW specialist as I can be a right cack handed tit at the worst of times! |

Happy update!
Had the car into my BMW indy (Auto Technik in Lutterworth) on Monday and they have located and fixed the broken wire for the princely sum of £142! Such a luxury being able to lock and unlock from the fob, first world problem eh? |
