PCV Valve and Vent Hose

After reading on this forum I thought I would try RB PCV and Cover and replace PCV Vent hose to try and fix smoking on decel issue. There was oil in the Vent hose on both ends, not sure if that's normal. My question is once I have replaced the parts should the car still smoke for a few days? Is the residual oil burning off or was the PCV Valve and Vent hose not the solution. Car is N54. Thanks.

It's normal to have oil in the PCV hose. You may want to try installing a catch can setup to help remove the oil before it's circulated back into the engine. How much smoke are you getting and is it only after a hard pull or most of the time on decel?

How many miles on it? It might require a good IC and CP clean to really get rid of things. I just replaced my vent tube and PCV with RB also, but I wasn't getting smoke. A little oil spray in the VC area after 125K miles (110K juiced)

I had really bad smoke on decel and when driving in traffic at low RPMs (1000-1500). My turbos felt strong, but one of them was leaking badly. Replaced turbos and now I have no more smoke. Not saying that's your problem but don't rule out turbos yet

Smoking has greatly reduced since I replaced pcv and Vent hose. Getting transmission service done Friday at Indy Shop and am having them take a look. I will let you know what I find out.

Still smoking so I replaced the Valve Cover and gasket this weekend and will know more when I put a few miles on it. If it's still smokes after that then I will pull DP's and check turbos. Car has 85,000 miles on it and tuned since 40,000.
