Refinishing Chrome 3 Piece Wheels

Just got a set of 3 piece wheels and the chrome plating is peeling on the lips. I want a polished or brushed lip instead (Maybe powdercoat). Whats the best way of doing this since I heard its not that easy removing all the chrome? My last resort is to buy new lips but just looking for options.

Since the wheels are 3 pc you can remove the lips, take them to a reputable plating shop & have the chrome stripped - then if you want polished the plater should be able to do this without trouble since the most important part of chrome plating is the polishing step & they are well equipped to do a good job.

If polished or brushed finish is what you go with I would still recommend you get them clear powdercoated after polishing/brushing to eliminate any constant maintenance to keep them looking good (especially if you use them on salted roads for any period of time

What's the best way to strip chrome? One shop I takes to said it's better to take it to a place to dechrome it because sandblasting doesn't work that good. Also great idea on a clear powdercoat, I was debating of a clear coat because I've heard they flake after awhile.
