Currently In a loaner 328i while BMW is dealing with my XM radio crackle pop issue and noticed this car had adjustments my M235i didn't have. No fair!

My wife's 3 series & my x3 have the equalizer/surround option as well. I guess bmw only offer this on 3+ series vehicles.

That's one of the many differences between the fiber optic-based Logic7 HK system (used on 3 Series and up) and the cheap-ass analog non-Logic7 system in the 2 Series.
Many, many other threads on this.

The 2 Series HK is far different than the HK system provided in 3 Series-and-up BMWs -- so different, in fact, that early F22 owners who opted for the HK were refunded roughly half of the option's price because the option was misrepresented by BMW (This came about thanks to a class-action settlement). The basic differences: - It is not Logic7-based. Signal paths are completely analog, and the DSP is fixed and nonadjustable. - It lacks tone controls beyond bass and treble - It has a less powerful op-amp-powered amplifier module The bottom line is that the only differences the HK provides over the base system are the separate tweeters, slightly upgraded midrange and underseat drivers, and a slightly more powerful (about 7 WPC, on average) amplifier module. That's it.
