318d e90 engine tuning
I just bought a new 318d (143hp version) last week, and I've been thinking about engine tuning, actually, chip tuning to be more precise.
I heared that its possible to to get it up to 170-180 hp with engine remaping. So, my questions are. Is it worth doing it? How safe it is? Whats the performance and fuel consumption diference? Thanks |

Kiwi,
Mike from Diesel Tuning has has just replied to my email of yesterday to say that the their website is being updated and they do offer a Spider box for the 318d engine. Standard performance is 105KW/143BHP and tuned is 132KW/180bhp. Good news me thinks. Will you be getting a Spider box ?? Steve. |

Just got the Abrieb box and I'm very happy with the result. Power delivery is extremely smooth. The acceleration is much quicker and I really have to watch my speed as the car reaches 160-180km as easily as it reached 120km before the box was connected. Car consumes around 4.0 liters on the highway and mixed usage has dropped to 5.0 liters from 5.6. The Spider box should also deliver similar results. The only thing that I find slightly worrying are the default breaks. They're sufficient for the stock engine but with the added power of the tuning box it may be a good idea to invest in larger disks for safety's sake. Definitely recommended .

this work with the 328i? I checked the site and they didn't have parts for it. I'm guessing this will definitely void warranty ya?
