Playing Whole Abums Consecutively Automatically

If I load a number of albums on a USB drive and want them to automatically play one-by-one, how do I do that?

I have iDrive and the Harmon system.

I can play each song on the USB automatically in alphabetical order but I have to manually select the next album I want to play. If I don't manually select the next album, each song will play in order until the end of the album then restart play at the first song repeatedly.

Any help?

Anyone? I guess I'll call the BMW Expert at my local dealer.

I have no idea how to play multiple albums consecutively. I've been watching the thread hoping for an answer. If you find out, please post!

Create playlists &/or flatten folder hierarchy.

I'll try playlists. I flatten folder hierarchy in two ways:
  1. The most basic was to load the albums without any folders. The contents of each album were loaded (in order) in one folder. The folder contained the music files of each album loaded consecutively . This resulted in the songs being played in alphabetical order.
  1. I loaded the albums in folders by name of the album (Not artist/album name/ BUT /album name/
The albums are listed in alpha order and I can play an album but after the last song in the album is played, the next song played is the first song of the same album.

It is all about how you have your music tagged. Is it correctly labeled with track numbers?

With playlists, you can specifically set order. And voice commands work well with them.

After 10 years with Audi, I've just got a 228i. iDrive is driving me nuts! In the Audi I could start any album playing and when it finished it just played the next album by that artist, and then the first album by the next artist alphabetically. This seems logical to me. But iDrive keeps playing the same album again and again! Why should I need to set up playlists - surely an album is a convenient default playlist for most people?

Or am I missing something?

Sorry for moaning in my first post. On the bright side the 228i is fast and refined!
