Coding: If I have Windows laptop with no ethernet...
...port, can I use a Thunderbolt- or HDMI-to-ethernet adapter easily?
Is it as simple as letting the adapter driver install, and then the newly created virtual ethernet port is ready to go? Or, is this a whole change-a-ton-of-settings-first project? |

I used this USB to ethernet adapter (http://a.co/eAKCMGT), and it worked without any type of extra setup.

One other note: make sure you have good adapter. I have seen cheap usb to ethernet cables that did not get adequate power; this resulted in intermittent connection as well as potentially more severe issues (see below).
