Recently Detailed [pics]

I thought I would share a few pics of a recent detail to give her a winter protection. Work carried out by Refined Details.

As someone who's never had a car detailed and with a new hearse on the way, would someone advise on the cost/benefits of this and how long any benefits would last. They do get so dirty in this weather so I'm struggling to see any value over a decent hand wash at this time of year but very happy to be converted!

Definately worth it. I had crystal serum light and then exo on top by a detailer at the garage before pickup. Firstly it looks amazing when picked up with no swirl marks and more importantly it gives a degree of protection from salt etc for winter, bird lime and general dirt. Also water runs off very easily and washing is simple as no polish etc required.

Its more about the underlying paint condition and the protection which can be added rather than the car looking clean, which it obviously wont for long.

Detailers now can add coatings that are harder than the clear coat of the paint itself and far more scratch/water/dirt resistant.

The day after I got mine, I took it to a detailer to have G3 Glasscoat applied. Cost me £280 but it was worth every penny! It's so easy to clean now, water and dirt just runs straight off it and it always looks shiny and brand new! I just top it up with the products they recommend. The sooner you take it in for treatment, the less it will cost as immaculate paint can be treated straight away whereas older may need a machine polish first. The interior has been treated too against spills and stains
