ha - i just done this tonight....its in the settings of idrive somewhere - but think you have to be stopped

all i remember is its under "units" and not where the display screen is

You don't need to be stopped to pull up the sports display, at least not on our '13 328.

Unless I am mis-reading that, he isn't talking about how to change the units from KW to HP or anything which is all that menu can do. He he asking how you can change the maxmium numbers on there to match a tuned up car for example.

although i will say, after having just put my wheels back on to the (high) torque of 140Nm that it only just occurred to me how comparatively low the torque output of IC engines is compared to us humans!

No, not that I know of. It's pre-loaded in the firmware for the unit. Only way to get a different number is the MPPK which changes the numbers to match the new tune.

as far as i know, this is coming from engine ecu, meaning these values will need a remap to change...

You mean like this?

You cannot code it, its needs altering in the ECU thus a remap.

This is my 435d that was 320BHP originally.

They are just window dressing anyway and are not calibrated instruments that represent the actual output of the vehicle.

Of course they are not 100% accurate but not far off. I agree they look cool not a necessity.
