Anyone use Techron Concentrate Plus Fuel System Cleaner ?
I put a bottle of it in my fuel tank recently.
Don't know if it's doing anything but I guess it can't hurt. Anyone else use it? |

I use it the tank before every oil change if I can remember to. I honestly can't tell a difference though.

Techron's been around for a very long time (decades). It used to be that my BMW dealer would put a bottle of it in the gas tank, whenever I would bring my car in for routine maintenance. Then Chevron started to include it in its gas pump gasoline. In 30+ years of driving BMWs, I have never had fuel injector issues, which is why BMW put a bottle of it in before Chrvon gas included it. I still use mostly Chevron gas.

I might clean your injectors but it won't clean you valves
in a direct injected engine. Because the gas doesn't pass over them. The only thing that will clean the valves is a direct cleaning via the Walnut Blast or hand brushing. |

I use top tier gas, usually Shell, but I do quite a bit of stop and go driving, so when I recently starting getting some odd codes about fuel/air mix, I put some in. I am still on that tank, so the jury is still out, but I am hoping it will clean the injectors. The dealer cleaned them a year ago, so I am hoping to avoid that expense, if nothing else.
Chevron gas is not available in NY anywhere around me. Techron is an additive that they use, but even if you are using good gas, it would not hurt to use a couple of bottles once a year or so, unless you do all highway driving.

I use the Lucas cleaner, combined with only Shell/Chevron 93. Works fine for me!

I use a bottle every 3000 miles. Probably doesn't do anything but it can't do any harm, particularly as I use Chevron gas most of the time
