I believe it says that as long as you are not within the window that permits a service reset. Wait until 12/2017 or another 500-1200 miles and see what it says.

I am having the same issue.

But, I believe I have found the issue. I went through INPA and it told me the vehicle check is tied to the oil check.

Do you have an oil check overdue? I do (I know I know, millage is well below, the time when its due is whats overdue... Car was sitting on lot for some time).

Thanks, you are correct. I reset the oil service and then I can reset the vehicle check interval. My check engine still on though. I originally thought the engine light was caused by the inspection being past due since they both happened at the same time. Seems like I need to scan the code now.
