JL amp XD600/6v2 location
Anyone here who has replaced your factory amp for the JL XD600/6v2, where have you installed it? Back of the seats? Near OEM location, hidden?
Just looking for what people have done with it. |

I know several have done it on this board. Most remove the stock amp/bracket and install the 600/6 in the same space. Part of the reason it's a popular upgrade choice is because it's compact enough to fit there.

Yah and there's not many 6 channel amp options
Any pictures of it installed ? Did you use technic's harness? Does it create any dealer issues since ASD/oem amp are essentially offline? |

Ping Zooks527 He had an issue with a Bimmertech amp creating havoc with the electrics when his ECU crashed and he had to have it re-flashed. Since the 600/6 is a simpler digital amp (i.e., no DSP software, etc.), I don't think you'd have that issue, though. Also, ping akuan99 ; he's one guy who I know has installed a 600/6. Do a search in this subforum, and I think an install DIY comes up (can't remember for sure). Finally, one poster (can't remember who; a search would turn the thread up) has issues with EMI noise from a 600/6 he installed a few months back. Turned out to be a faulty unit.

Well, less an ECU crash than an ECU update during a service. The flash failed when the system tried to poll the stock amp and got no response. The car became a brick until I put the original amp back in to let the reflash continue.
