PPI refund, what to spend it on?

I was sorting through some old paperwork a couple of weeks ago when I came across an old credit card statement from 2003, which I noted I'd been paying ppi on. I downloaded a form filled it in & sent it off.

Today I get home from work to find a letter telling me my complaint was upheld & I will be receiving a cheque for £8777 within 20 days

So do I sell my 2006 335i SE it has covered 100k, has had engine & gearbox map mishimotto inter cooler & can get up to 109.6 mph & do a 13.2 over 1/4 mile.
I've had it for four & a half years or so & I suspect it's worth 6-7k.
Am thinking about buying something newer but don't know what or do I spend a couple of grand sorting all the bits that need & that I would like doing then keep it for another year or two?

Going to have a look on autotrader to see what's about.
What do you guys think?

1007k! hehe

Bit of an open question tbh. What do you want? £15k won't really buy you many better cars than a 335i.

Congratulations-what a result!Question is,were you thinking of selling up before your windfall?
If you were happy with your car beforehand, enjoy it and don't rush into anything unless you desperately want to or have to.
I'd save up a bit more and get a keeper.
If you're after suggestions though, how about an M135?

Have been looking at 3 litre e86s but they are getting on a bit now, have seen a few e89 35i DCTs for 13-15k.

Have been thinking on & off for the last 6 months that I'd like a change

Thanks 20 mins filling out a form well spent

Not keen on 1 series, I would have a 235i but they are still to expensive

I couldn't live with that boot & my mortgage is nearly paid off, I'd need to take out another one to run the thing
Thanks for the thought though.

I did drive a 35i DCT today it didn't feel especially quick & unfortunately it was white with red leather, I'd like to see a silver one with black or blue leather.

I known what you mean about the boot. It doesn't look like it belongs on the car, but other than that it's a fantastic car for the money. Don't know how, but the road tax is only £295. Check this one out

How much money do you have to borrow to end up with that amount of PPI?

I had the account from 99-2005, most of the payout is interest payable at 8% over 17 years

Your mortgage is nearly cleared off.... Clear it off then, and then you'll get an extra £400-£600 (obviously no idea what your payment is) in your sky rocket every month...

9k would be just under 1/2 of what's still owed, I'll just make the payments for another 3 years.

Anyways I'm now thinking I'll get the bits done on the 335, repair door, paint bonnet sort oil leak & maybe do charge pipe & fit some forge diverter valves or some bovs.

The missus wants to go look at new sofas today

Here's what you should have announced to your other half.

'Oh sweet, I'm getting a £4K PPI repayment'

Any links to the ppi form you filled out?

Congrats btw! I would spend 1/3 on modding, 1/3 on house/wife and 1/3 just add to savings

Thanks. Don't know how to post link, but if you search
ppi insurance consumer questionnaire
www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk>ppi

It's easy to do & no need for a third party claims company that'll take a big slice of your pie.
