Optional Extras

I am planning to get the following optional extras for 420d and would appreciate any suggestions:

+ pack
Advance parking pack
instead of innovation pack which is 1450 just going for the HUD which is 825
sunroof
heated steering wheel
sliding armrest
folding seats
Folding wing mirrors
Lane change warning system

I would lose the lane change and sunroof, then keep the rest on a 430d and get extra free kit too:-)

Leather dash would be a nice option.

What extra free kit you get on 430 and the reason I have decided to go for 420 is for the better fuel economy! Still trying to convince myself though.

If going for HUD. Pay the extra £220 and get speed limit display.

Drop the parking, add in speed limit display.

Are heated seats standard on the 420d?

I know electric seats are standard on the 430d, as is a few extra bits too.

Def speed limit with HUD, brilliant piece of kit.

My 30 mile commute with ACC and a mix of motorway and A roads returns me 55mpg with cruise set at speed limits.
I could possibly get it higher if I took it of cruise, but happy enough with that.

I think the difference between mpg is only about 4-5 on a run. My route is very hilly so could be more decent with a flatter route?

You know you want to.

I would definitely consider the speed limit display - it is worth the extra 220

Sound, smoothness, power delivery, all coupled with great mpg when you want it.

Meant to explain the difference between 420d and 430d is only about 4-5 mpg.
Well worth it for the inline 6.

Without question it is. it also makes the HUD a bit more complete.

Without it, it sort of makes the HUD redundant.

A HUD needs information input.

ACC, Speed display, Pro Media all make the HUD 'work'.

Is that true that dealerships give you more discount on 430d than 420d? I heard they give you extra 3k off on a 430d.

55mpg on 430d Honest john states 42.3 average! Is yours auto or manual? Didn't know the difference was only 4 to 5 which is not too bad so definitely would consider 430d but will go for a test drive first. How is the drive like?

It actually then feels like something resembling a BMW instead of an agricultural sounding tractor. Plus it's a pretty fast car, mpg difference is not worth mentioning.

Completely different to the x2.0 car.

Make sure it's a S Drive though.

Don't try comparing Xdrive and Sdrive and different engines.

First off you get much more available power, then there is the sports auto box, then for a Diesel it actually sounds okay.

Try it in comfort and then Sports.

Correct - my 330d is in for bodywork and I have a 320d courtesy car - although not slow, the difference in soundtrack, smoothness, power delivery etc etc is immeasurable

I would certainly test drive a 430D and see if you think the bigger engine is worth it....would also help in resale value I think. if it is, also vote to drop sunroof (you have aircon) and Lane Change

If you go HUD, then speed limit seems an obvious? (I've got it - works well)

Absolute musts for me are mirrors, rear camera and heated seats/wheel - maybe extended storage?

And that auto box is SO nice!
