e92 - halo's and taillights don't light up when unlocking?

Hello,

I've searched the forum and have seen several responses on this issue. But I just wanted to know if anyone had a definite fix for this?

So I haven't driven my car for a few weeks now because it's stored in the garage for the winter. I start the vehicle every couple days. Last night I noticed that when unlocking the vehicle, the only lights that were illuminating were from inside and from the door handles. The headlights/tailights did not illuminate like they would normally.

People say it's doing this to save battery??

Does anyone know the reason and the fix for this?

Gonna try again tonight to see what happens.

Thanks everyone!

if you're going to store it, starting it up and letting it idle without coming up to temp is worse then just leaving the car off to begin with. you either leave the car alone until you can take it for a good 20-30 min drive and get it up to temp, or you take it out for a good half hour drive once a month or so while storing it.

Yes. The IBS detects battery is low on charge so it disables non-essential functions to try to preserve battery.

See above. Charge the battery.

i have found if you leave the light switch in auto it will flash the exterior lights when locking/unlocking and not flash them when turned off.

there might be some sort of sleep function but this is what i found with my 2007 328i

My tail lights and corona rings only light up when I unlock if my headlight switch is on auto or full on. If the switch is set to 0 the lights don't function when I unlock the car.

I always leave the light switch on auto, still not working. So I'm just gonna charge the battery when I get the chance.
