WTF car!?
Here are the errors i pulled. Dont know i[IMG][/IMG]f it's the battery, a yelloy battery came on too. That said the battery is 2 years old. Was driving fine, went over a speed bump at 5 in DC and Christmas Lights on dash! ABS, Airbag, you name it.
Thoughts?

I'd like to point your attention to the 11.62 voltage output. That in itself just seems like a faulty battery.
Try testing your battery at a local autoparts store! |

BMWs don't do well with voltage less than 12.0VDC. Other possibility is that the battery cable recall was not done causing these readings. If it has been done sure sounds like a battery headed or gone south....
The bump is what has me thinking that the battery cable to fuse box recall has not been done. Your symptoms are exactly what usually happens. Try this pound on the glove box or right above it and see if most of the errors clear. The cable is located in the back of the fuse box there. Please post what it happens to be so we can all learn from your misfortune.... |

I've dropped the car off at the shop. The running voltage was 16, isnt that high? I thought it was supposed to be around 14.

<Long Explanation> As your battery gets older, it looses some of its potency or voltage, the car dosent like this, so to compensate the alternator is told to work harder to help out the battery. If you just drop a new battery in, without telling the computer, it will assume that the new battery still needs help keeping up, and the alternator will fry it, and maybe take itself out as well. </Long Explanation> So if you or a local shop changed your battery recently, I would think that would be the case, if it was a shop you may be able to get them to pay for the new alternator and a new battery, if you did it last, then thats unfortunate and just means time to replace them both out of pocket. |

Lazarus is back!
So now if one adds up all the costs of repairs, its more tyan what I originally paid for the car. that said i did buy it at about 1/4th the original price of the car. The BMW yax is real folks. Hopefully this is the end of all the troubles its had this year, with pretty much every single thing having been replaced, besides Engine, Clutch, and Trans (and body ofcourse ). Knock on wood!
