E Maps

Am looking at getting the car remapped when it's got more than 98 miles on the clock

I understand about warranty but have mapped BMWs in the past without incident (maybe lucky) so don't see the increases as being too risky

EMaps have quoted £399 to increase from 254bhp to 325bhp and 560Nm to 660Nm

Anyone used Emaps before or have any views/comments

Go on feedback not peak figures, 325 is incredibly high.

I personally wouldn't touch anything that's not done on a rolling road, specific to my individual car. With anything else, no matter what the reputation etc. you just don't know what's being altered & what's being kept within limits. An awful lot of these 'off the shelf' maps just increase boost.
Might cost a bit more, but when all's said & done it's your £30K pride & joy!

+1.

Ignore the numbers hype, listen to the feedback to make a choice.

Simon from E Maps did my old E92 330d. It was great and had no issues whatsoever. He's a top bloke a was well respected on the forums for the E series.

Surely if it's been mapped properly there shouldn't be any excess smoke? My map's been on over a year & never seen black smoke...

Emaps have been tried, tested and trusted for years now-especially with regards bmw tuning.
Forum searches should allow you a balanced view, but from experience,I've had no issues and would use them again.
Mine was live mapped by Emaps under various driving conditions, which I've always preferred.
I'm sure there will be other replies with some alternatives though...

I've used Simon @ emaps before and happy to recommend. He's one of the few who I've never heard a bad word against.

Having said that... 325bhp sounds wildly optimistic!

It's only a 28% increase I thought was to be expected

Simon did both of my E91 335d's and I never had issue with either.....

I've recently purchased an F31 and have debated calling him again, it's only the warranty issue making me delay my decision.
If I decide against MPPK, I won't hesitate to call him.

Putting it bluntly, he knows his sh*t!

BMW conservative MPPK on the 330D is quoted as 286bhp but in reality achieves nearer to 300bhp.

DMS stated 330bhp to me, and you're being told by E-Maps that 325 is achievable.

Going for a 28% increase is a personal choice. Whoever you opt for I'd recommend you get a before+after dyno run at an independent. Don't forget the torque figure, and the published max rating of the 'box.

Here's his figures:

http://www.e-maps.co.uk/products/BMW...ies+%28F10%29/

a 35d is quoted as a 52bhp increase.

but the 30d is a 71bhp increase.

Something dont add up.

Maybe they are not hiking up the 35d so much because of the 'box.

Gone off the idea of a map due the fact the ECU has to come out. Like the MPPK option but its expensive and like the Superchips option as its easy to remove and half the price.

If in doubt do nothing......

I can say I am pleased with the Superchips option.
Not as potent as a live remap but will sure as hell put a smile on your face and not make you worry the gearbox will shatter or DPF clog up.
