to paint properly, you need to use a plastic adhesion promoter, then 2k urethane high build primer, block sand, then sealer, then base clear. Good shop should charge at least 500 for this.
The problem with what you have is its probably more labor to strip off old bad paint than just to start with a new part. Looks like they just shot a reduced single stage on there, that is why it is so soft. You would have to remove all the old to get good adhesion, and would probably melt or damage the part in the process. |

I got it repainted today and it looks pretty decent
Paint job was around 280, so definitely not on the cheap end of cost The shop did insist they used primer but most probably none of the things you listed I'm going to take the risk and see how long it lasts in the current state, possibly adding a compound that protects the paint but I'm somewhat sure it will easily get chipped at some point |

oh sorry thought it was the front, put a good sealer (I like klasse) on in about 6 months and you should be fine, do not wax sooner, paint needs to gas out.
