Transmission slightly rough shifting?
I have a 2011 328i sedan. It has 83k miles and lately I have "felt" shifts more than I have in the past. From 4th to 5th is particularly notchy. I had the filter and fluid changed at 63k miles and had the software uupdated to the latest version.
I had the dealer take a look at it and they looked for codes and found no faults. The tech notes from the dealer said "verified customer complain of slightly harsh shifts. Looked for any faults and found none relating to customer complaint. Reset transmission and DME adaptations and verified issue was resolved". I'm thinking they just reset it to appease me. Could it be that my transmission is failing? Sometimes I push my car with the kickdown switch. Perhaps I just got used to the loaner cars with the ZF 8 speed. Does anyone else have this issue? I can't say I've ever read about transmission failures in these cars. |

My car is also a 2011 328i, but a coupe (don't think that matters). I'm not sure how similar your experience is to mine, but here's an older post about the diagnosis/fix applied by my dealer for my transmission issue:
