Do I have automatic highbeam headlights?

According to this website I have "Adaptive Headlights":
http://www.etkbmw.com/bmw/EN/vin/decoder/online/

However, I'm not sure if that means I have automatic high beam assist - that is, high beams that turn on/off automatically.

For example, if an oncoming car is coming, the high beams should turn off then should turn back on after the car has passed.

It seems to me my high beams are totally manual but perhaps I'm not using it properly.

I have the adaptive headlights and high beams on mine are manual (2007). I think the auto high beams are new in the last few years.

Does your headlight switch have four positions?
A - 0 - >< - D? (Bad graphic representation)

On my car this is how it works - if I have my switch on A (adaptive) it just swivels the bi-Xenon with the steering wheel, as well as turns on the cornering light next to it in the housing with the corresponding side and the direction I am turning (also works with turn signals after a few blinks - will then turn off after awhile too if sitting at a stop)

I should also add that they auto adjust up/down depending on rear load - but that works in A or on mode.

2010 335, you have auto adjusting headlights (leave light switch turned all the way to the left). You do not have auto high-beams.

Oh well, I guess I don't have it.

I heard some people don't like auto high beams anyhow. It tends to get confused with road sign reflections.

There is a camera under the rear view mirror, the looks for taillights, and headlights. If you don't have a camera there, you don't have FLA (auto highbeams).

Auto highbeams is turned on by pressing the BC stalk forward once. When turned on, you will get a A+headlight symbol show up in BC info area of kombi. Also, you can only turn on FLA when headlight switch is on Automatic.

FLA is fairly easy to retrofit and can be done for a reasonable price using part-out mirrors.

I see a round dot on the rear view mirror itself but I think that's for auto dimming of the mirror itself.
