Who's running steelies on their E90 this winter?
I just picked up a set of black steelies with 225/45/17 Conti ExtremeWinterContract, basically brand new for a steal. I want to see your E90/92 running ugly steel wheels. I'm considering painting them bronze/gold/green/something silly.
Anyone know if I will need hub rings or weird bolts or any other accessories to get them mounted properly? I just know they came off an '06 325i. |

No one? Well, I managed to track down a retailer who's carrying the ones I ended up with, by the SKU on the original owner's receipt. They should fit fine. 5x120, ET40, CB 72.6.
Am i missing anything? https://pmctire.com/en/steel-wheel-m...ort-40-72.tire |

Maybe I will!
I was concerned about weight, but at 23lbs they're not much heavier than most OEM wheels. I have to tackle some ugly mountain passes for Christmas, and this gives me a reason to ditch my 16" in the Spring and get a nice dedicated Summer set. |

In case anyone else ever has questions about this... went in for an oil change and had them swapped over. I haven't taken it up to highway speeds but I haven't noticed any vibration or issues up to 70km/h or so. Frankly I think they look decent in a utilitarian kind of way.
When loading the old set out of the car it was clear that the 16" runflats on stock alloys were heavier than the 17" steelies with regular winters. Go figure. Now I can sell them off and get a nice light summer set. |
