Anyone with 320D ED changed their alloys yet?

I have been looking to change my alloys for a few weeks now but it is almost impossible to find a set that would fit the car.

I understand that the factory alloys increase MPG and hence that is why BMW recommend that no other alloys are used but has anyone successfully changed the alloys on their ED with no issues?

Thanks

Somebody has as I bought them off ebay for my winter set up on my 329D. Trying to wear out the summer tyres that are fitted to them before having winters fitted.
The ride is soo smooth after my 18's.
These were the LCI ED sport wheels not the original ED crappy looking ones.

The ED Sport wheels are the same 17" as the regular Sport. And yes, they ride as nicely as anything with Bridgestone RFTs can - just about makes up for them being so ugly!

Is there any reason the regular ED wouldn't take the same range of wheels as any other F3x? I know it's only sold with 16s but presumably the fittings are the same?

Have a look at THIS THREAD.

My first F30 was an ED and I think the suspension is 10mm lower for added efficiency and they are the only wheels that are directional. (waiting for the jokes)

The other thing I was told, by a dealer, if you change the wheels (Bigger) it puts it into the next road tax bracket because it can't achieve the CO2 ratings. Now I can sort of see that but I'm not sure if that's dealer flannel too.

Pretty much flannel. Once the car is registered, I don't think the bracket can change. Otherwise it would be an MOT check (or something) to ensure that a vehicle is on it's original wheels.

It's true that the suspension's noticeably lower than the regular SE and Sport they're based on, but the M Sport is at least as low. In any case the overall diameter of wheels & tyres is similar across all models:
ED/Plus: 205/60R16 25.69"
ED Sport: 225/50R17 25.86"
M Sport (fr): 225/45R18 25.97"

The pre-LCI ED had directional wheels but the LCI ED Plus is available with various 16" options.

I'd expect (but may be wrong) that any standard F3x wheel should be fine on an ED or ED Plus.

Quick update - I've grown to like the once hideous wheels so I'm going to wait till the tyres have less than 3mm to get the alloys changed.

Will keep this thread updated.

Any F30 wheels will fit the car fine, of course, because it is an F30!

My bro in law has the ED with standard wheels, man does it need bigger wheels, they look like shopping trolley wheels!
