They do, but, they're not very secure as the master key sets are available on ebay!:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/22-Pc-1-2-...UAAOSwZtJW9FYF So I bought some aftermarket Mcgard locks mainly to fit my spacers but also a good piece of mind for better security. |

The locking wheel nuts on the F are garbage, the ones from the E are better. I replaced mine after the locking nut adapter got chewed up the first time the wheel needed removing. The dealer told me it happens a lot, a nice engineering firm in Castleford got the wheel off for me as BMW wanted to grind it off and risk wrecking the wheel.

I had to replace my first set of BMW ones last year. On the weekend went to put my winter wheels on - one of them started playing up again - unhappy hamster to say the least. Tempted to try for a refund and get some alternatives as above...Google job or any particular best buys? Cheers

Chewed in my case first time round - so that on exerting pressure the "key" would just "click off". Feared the same this time (one started clicking off) but WD40 seemed to do the trick.

But to get away from the limited number of BMW lock combinations, better buying the McGard high-security ones. That's what I did anyway when I fitted my spacers. Paid about £35 for a set of longer ones. |

Guess you guys with issues have muck in the bolt head, to prevent proper engagement. |

Brand new BMW wheels and bolts torqued on in super clean workshop and then completely cleaned by detailer before removal attempt in same workshop. Had only been fitted once and one of them chewed up so it wasn't dirt in this case. I couldn't believe it either but was stood watching, I wasn't impressed. The key bit of the locking adapter in the new ones appears to be pressed into a standard fitting which doesn't seem a great design. We then took it round to the main dealer who chewed a couple of keys trying it and had none left, they told me it happens all the time so the new lockers are quotes "garbage". After getting it removed I went to another dealer to get old style bolts and they told me they have been replacing the new bolts for old style ones on the new cars they are selling to avoid the amount of problems that service have had with this.

The key only properly engages and goes all the way in at one point in a a full rotation so turn it around when fitting to make sure it has a proper purchase. It will semi-engage at other points but then slip when you put any torque on it.
I have also seen the locking heads put on bolts at a slight angle which should be rejected under warranty. In Germany now many owners have stopped using locking bolts as a) thieves can still get the wheels off or worse b) will damage them trying which possibly won't be covered under your insurance. If you have run-of-the-mill wheels you might want to consider not using lockers. |
