Can Business nav on a 4 series be upgraded?

This might be the weirdest question ever but I am very likely going to buy a 430d tomorrow and it has business nav.

Is it physically possible to change the nav from business to professional and more importantly if 'yes', how much?

Don't worry this car is cheap so I will make do with the business if I have to.......

Around £1k to upgrade it to pro nav with DAB.

Or you can just change the screen if it's the newer business nav system:

Cheers teaspoon.

Looks like I will be upgrading to pro nav

I might (100%) need someone else to do this for me but I reckon it will still be worth it.

I believe it has to be coded to the car also which means if your car has to go into BMW, you may have to get it redone each time or swap back.

It could also invalidate your warranty?

The car is going to be in warranty for a matter of just a few months more. I would also guess that only a problem regarding the head unit is going to be a problem under warranty, as it won't affect the drivetrain, engine etc etc

I would not get to hung up about Pro Nav. I am one of many who do not rate it and would not spec it next time.
Stick with your business Nav and have a long weekend away with the family on the money saved.

I totally agree I don't even need bigger maps as I use my phone all the time for sat nav regardless of the OEM cars nav, but it is all about the bling

I can highly recommend Vorph as an installer / cider / supplier of parts. Did a few bits for me and was spot on.

I have the business nav and did the 8.8 screen I am not really sure what the difference is now between mine and a pro nav?!?

same size screen. split screen. Bluetooth enhanced. seems odd to want to change it all out for no extra gain

On your newer business nav I don't think there is much difference, just the lack of voice control, touchpad & HDD. Do you get the 3D buildings in cities?

Not sure about the 3d buildings but i am starting to come round to the idea that maybe I don't need the professional screen.

I have not used the built in sat nav once and done 400 miles since Friday already.

Waze and google maps are just so good and i am reliant upon them.

Any ideas as to why when I turn on the car the screen defaults to a Profiles page? There are no profiles as such and I would rather it defaulted to the trip computer or media screen on startup.
