Problem getting air into tyres

Seem to have developed a problem with the valves on my wheels. Went to top up the pressures in my tyres the other day but couldnt get seem to get the tool to fit over the valves properly, felt as though it wouldnt go on far enough because of the TPMS and just let air out.

Managed to get air in one of them but had to go to the local tyre fitter who needed to use a screw on extension to get air in the rest. Definitely something wrong there, I remember last time I topped them up i had a bit of difficulty with one wheel but this time its all wheels and I couldnt get anything in them.

I tried several different garages as well and all where the same. Anyone else had problems with this? Tyre fitter reckons he's had a few people in with the same problem.

I use a 12v compressor which has a threaded coupling. No problem with air leaking and they're widely available for around £25. Mine's from Ring Automotive. Having said £25, just found this: http://www.screwfix.com/p/ring-analo...FVVuGwodxigGsg

The Michelin double barrel foot pumps have a threaded union rather than the normal over centre locking lever.
