Service Inclusive - how early to get a service?

How long before 18k miles can I get a service under the service inclusive plan? I've had my car just over a year but only done 14.5k.

Isn't it just a matter of following what the car tells you? I've done c.9k in a year and it says it's 8k to go until the service is due.

The car will tell you when it needs serviced. If the OBC says no then your dealer won't touch it as BMW wont pay them

Cheers. Wasn't sure if it was 18k or 1 year, whichever was soonest.

Sorry but this is not correct.

There is a tolerance on what OBC says. Call the service manager and ask how early you can bring it in under SI package. It's worth doing it as early as you can, as you could get another service in under SI later on.

Presumably though, you are talking about a couple of thousand miles rather than 4,000 or 8,000?

I did this recently it's 1000miles, eg if your due service @ 36000 and your on 35001 miles you can get it serviced.

I was told and I have 3000 in mind, but it would be better for you to find out exactly.

I cant see BMW doing the service early as they could lose money on having to give you more under your plan. I would say when it reaches 1000k left, give them a call? Depends what kind of mileage you do. For me, 1000 miles will be done in 1 month, so that gives them a bit of time to book in and give me a courtesy car.

Waiting time if you want a loan car is normally 2 weeks so that works out about perfect. I havent had a service on mine yet, got 4000k to go before the oil service on SI plan.

I think if you were about to take a long road-trip, say 4000 mile spin around Europe, then somehow this needs to be accommodated. If you only have 2900 miles left on your service indicator then the car needs doing before you leave, or you end up going over the tolerance on the other side.

Mine dealer said 1 month of your average miles (so was roughly 2.5k early for me). Word of caution; I got first 2 done 2.5k and 1k early. Just had my 3rd and final one done (1k late!) and I'm on 45k. I would have been better off not doing early as would have had 3 services (which is maximum under SI) and last would have been at around 50k (also max mileage).

I'm sure there is a simpler way of saying that but hopefully the above makes sense!

They do service cars in Mainland Europe.

Being serious, I'm sure I've read someone having their car serviced while in Europe under the service pack. If that is so, could take away the need of an exception, for an early service.

At least you got 3 services out of yours, I only got 2, so I would prefer to have 5k to go after the 3rd service than be (like I was) 4k over, making me miss my third free. Typical mileage based intervals could be as high as 19,000 each time = 57,000, which means you need to lose 7k total or 2.3 k miles each time.

Funnily enough, I typed and deleted before posting "Unless BMW Milan would honour the BMW UK service pack".

Interesting if the euro dealers do indeed honour it (or BMW UK subsequently refund costs).

I'm pretty sure the service pack is provided by BMW AG, so it shouldn't matter which country you're in.
