CA Dealer has allocation spot for delivery Mid Jan

I emailed my SA I bought my 235i from in regards to an M2 this morning, and they said:

"Today is your lucky day. We had an M2 allocation spot open this morning for delivery mid Jan. Car is selling for 10,000 over MSRP but for you 5,000 over MSRP. let me know the options you want and we can get it ordered"

1. When people are ordering, are they still paying over MSRP? I thought when you get an allocation spot and you order, you pay MSRP, am I wrong there?

2. If i can't avoid the $5,000 over MSRP, let me know if anyone is looking for an allocation spot in Southern CA and I'll give it up. (if you don't mind the $5000 over MSRP).

Cheers

Nice of you to share the info at least.

That over MSRP pricing is still alive and well in So Cal for sure!

I know it's not ground breaking or anything, but I thought the fact I could order it today, and have it mid Jan was ahead of schedule for some people.
If that's ordinary, then disregard my excitement.

I did see that BMW of Norwood has an M2 at MSRP ($56k)
I may try to go over there and snatch that one (if someone doesn't first), it just doesn't have the Executive package.

I had the same situation with my other local dealership offering it to me but wanted over 5k MSRP. I decided to wait it out at my main dealership instead. I didn't mind waiting as I'm expected to get it sometime during spring.

I was in the Toronto Area and took receipt of my BSM M2 in August at MSRP. Never any discussion about premiums. I have heard of several that have been asked to pay premium price.....that said, I have moved to Chicago and customs have set the value of my car at $84,995 for duty purposes! what a scam!

Special $5k over for you! Terrible. That's the deal anyone can get for just making a call. That's the non wait list fee. There are plenty of dealers in CA with allocation willing to do that "deal"
