Software update & Email probs

Hi there,

When I go to the software upgrade page and enter the last 7 digits of the VIN, it tells me that this number is incorrect. Any suggestions as to why that might be? It's a new car. I have tried ringing connected drive 'helpline' three times today and in total have waited for 60 minutes with no answer. I rang and bollocked them and they were going to call me in 10 minutes which they didn't.

Also, when I go to the remote cockpit page and go to > control > set up email accounts > mail provider - I enter Gmail, myemail address and password. Click save and every time it says 'error please correct your information'. I have entered the correct information.

Am I doing something obviously wrong? Do I need to get something physically activated by a connected drive person?

Sorry for being a total newb. I am not good with technical car stuff.

Would appreciate any advice. Ta

same here, I spoke to the dealer and they said I needed to register with the portal on bmw.co.uk. , register my car and then try

the only portal I can find is the connected idrive when I register I get the following The vehicle cannot be added to your account.
The mobile network connection has been deactivated for this vehicle. This means that it cannot be added to your account.

You need to contact connected drive people.

Use the email address, they get it sorted pretty quick.

Unless you bollock some person answering the phone, then you likely go in the 'Get to Fuck' pile.

Hi Guys,

Today I installed UPD05074 and I checked again the Software versions and have now these displayed:
Add-On: HN-002.255.073
Media: MN-002.018.071
Phone: TN-002.018.070

Now I would like that MN and TN stand for MediaNumber and TelephoneNumber or something similar.
But I have no clue what HN stands for nor where can I find update content about this?

I downloaded the update from bmw/update page by putting my VIN in the search box. I would really like to know what got up-dated, because before this update I did not have the "ADD-ON" listed in my Software Version.

I'd like to know this as well. Did my update about a month+ ago and still haven't managed to get an answer.
